History of RSS

RSS was established on 27 September 1925. On this day Vijayadashami, a festival of great gaiety, was being celebrated in our country. This union was started by K. B. Hedgewar on this holy festival of Vijayadashami, which is spreading today and is known as the largest union of the whole world. After the establishment, Hedgewar rejected the proposal of Mahatma Gandhi to fight with the Muslims and continued his war with British rule by making the organization's relationship with political organizations.

At the time of the fight with British rule, no relation was maintained with any political parties. During World War II the RSS openly praised the strategy of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. Even during the war with Bangladesh, the Indian government was supported by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
