What is SLR, what is SLR, full name of SLR and what is the meaning in Hindi, you will get answers to all such questions in this post.

What is SLR?

The full form of SLR is Single Lens Reflex. It is called a glass shadow in Hindi. It is used in high quality cameras. SLR or Single Lens Reflex Camera is an older format of camera originally designed for taking film.

The SLR provides a line of sight to the viewer through the main lens. As light passes through the photographic lens, the image is reversed and reversed by the lens. The next image reflex strikes the mirror and is directed into the viewfinder. There it passes through a Panchatantra. A pentaprism is a lens that corrects the image by streaming it back into the horizontal and vertical dimensions and directing it to the viewer's eye.

SLR uses an automatic moving mirror system that allows photographers to see what will be captured by the film or digital imaging system. It actually uses a mirror and prism system to see what will be captured. It is commonly known as DSLR camera.

Modern DSLRs have the same setup as the older film SLRs, except for the film and film planes, which are replaced by digital image sensors in the sensor plane.

The main advantage of SLR cameras is that the lenses can be changed to get the desired images.

The main disadvantage of SLR camera is that it is bulky and expensive. It costs much more than Point and Shots Camera.

History of SLR

The history of the single lens reflex camera SLR begins with the use of a reflex mirror in a camera obscura described in 1676. But the design for photographic cameras took a long time to come to fruition. The first patent was granted in 1861 and the first cameras were manufactured in 1884. But simple in concept they were very complex in practice. One by one, these complications were overcome as optical and mechanical technology advanced, and in the 1960s the SLR camera became the preferred design for many high-end camera formats.

The advent of digital point and shoot cameras in the 1990s with LCD viewfinder displays reduced the appeal of SLRs to the lower end of the market. Mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras are increasingly challenging the mid price range market. But the SLR remains the camera of first choice for most professional and aspiring amateur photographers.
